ContraSpa by SpaFlo Launches At Bingham Riverhouse
The first British hot and cold water therapy spa has launched at the independent luxury hotel in London

London 1st May 2024: ContraSpa by SpaFlo has launched at the luxury wellbeing sanctuary Bhuti at Bingham Riverhouse. The Uk’s first ever hot and cold water single shell and dual use therapy spa has launched at the iconic hotel in Richmond. Bhuti at Bingham Riverhouse has created a unique outdoor wellness space helping people connect with nature whilst working on body & mind. ContraSpa, the first ever hot and cold water therapy hot tub fits perfectly in the space with guests able to see, hear and feel the River Thames in the tranquil garden setting. SpaFlo’s ethos is ‘health through water’ and ContraSpa embodies this ethos providing the ultimate water wellbeing therapy aid. Ideal for Bhuti at Bingham Riverhouse visitors as they can work on body and mind by soothing the stresses and strains of everyday life whether through easing muscle soreness, improving mental wellbeing or supporting their immune system whilst enjoying a hot and cold water plunge.
ContraSpa was created by SpaFlo's founder, Richard Gowland, after spotting a gap in the luxury spa market for a dual use single shell spa that provides near simultaneous hot and cold water therapy. Many of Gowland's clients have relied on just hot water spas, and some have used their hot water spas as a cold water plunge and then sprinted to their sauna. This new concept in the spa world creates a unique opportunity for people to enjoy an immediate cold and hot water and contrast therapy.
Contrast water therapy to aid wellbeing has been practiced in various forms for many years, first outlined by Professor Sebastian Kneipp. It is the process of moving from hot water to cold water. Contrast water therapy is one of the oldest natural water therapies with extensive wellbeing benefits. Regular contrast water therapy users may boost their immunity, aid rehabilitation from injuries, support DOMS recovery, and some suggest it can boost your metabolism too. Many people also use it to enhance their sleep and support their mental wellbeing. Athletes like Olympian Colin Jackson MBE have used cold water therapy as part of their training and wellness regime for years.
A first of its kind on the market, the luxury spa design is based on the company's logo and ethos, with a unique Yin and Yang separating the two bodies of water whilst maintaining respective temperature and allowing easy access through cleverly integrated steps. The spa is made of European and UK sourced sustainable marine grade stainless steel, and clever lighting highlights the hot and cold areas to complete the stunning aesthetic. Controls are both wifi and touchscreen enabled.
Richard Gowland comments, 'Health through water is at the heart of what we do. Spas, pools and water features all have their unique wellbeing properties. I am delighted to partner with Bingham Riverhouse, a beautiful independent hotel in Richmond, London to celebrate wellness in their newly created outdoor wellbeing space.’
ContraSpa will be at Bingham Riverhouse from 1st May 2024 - 30th June 2024. For bookings bhuti.co/contra-spa for more information on SpaFlo head to https://www.spaflo.co.uk/contraspa
